American Retirement Corporation is listed on NYSE (ACR). American Retirement Corporation is one of the largest operators of senior living communities in the United States. We are a senior living and health care services provider offering a broad range of care and services to seniors, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and therapy services. The senior living industry is a growing and highly fragmented industry. We believe we are one of the few national operators providing a range of service offerings and price levels across multiple communities. At December 31, 2004, we operated 66 senior living communities in 14 states, with an aggregate unit capacity of approximately 13,100 units and resident capacity of approximately 14,700. At December 31, 2004, we owned 15 communities, leased 45 communities, and managed six communities. Our revenues for the year ended December 31, 2004 were $447.
