Through internal development and by acquisitions, Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. has established an internationally recognized industrial gas and related industrial process equipment business and developed strong positions as a producer of certain chemicals. The gases business segment recovers and distributes industrial gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, helium, argon, and hydrogen, and a variety of medical and specialty gases, and also includes the Company's healthcare business. The chemicals business segment produces and markets performance materials and chemical intermediates. The equipment business segment supplies cryogenic and other process equipment and related engineering services.

(MAC) and CSA Air, Inc. (CSA), and aviation ground support and other specialized equipment products through its wholly owned subsidiary, Global Ground Support, LLC (Global). During fiscal 2003 the Company decided to dispose of its aviation related parts brokerage and overhaul services through its wholly owned subsidiary, Mountain Aircraft Services, LLC (MAS). The Company entered into a letter of intent on June 19, 2003 to sell certain assets and a portion of the business operations of MAS. In August 2003, the Company completed the sale of certain assets of MAS for consideration of $1,885,000, resulting in the recognition of losses associated with the disposition of $1,121,000.
