American Standard Companies Inc. is a Delaware corporation formed in 1988 to acquire all the outstanding common stock of American Standard Inc., a Delaware corporation (American Standard Inc.) incorporated in 1929. American Standard or the Company refers to the Company, or to the Company and American Standard Inc. or American Standard International Inc. (ASII), its wholly-owned subsidiary, including their subsidiaries, as the context requires. Business Segments American Standard is a global, diversified manufacturer of high-quality, brand-name products in three major business segments: air conditioning systems and services; bath and kitchen fixtures and fittings; and vehicle control systems. American Standard is one of the largest providers of products in each of its three major business segments. An overview of each of the segments follows below.
