Alderwoods Group Inc is listed on NASDAQ (AWGI). Alderwoods Group, Inc. is the second largest operator of funeral homes and cemeteries in North America based on total revenue and number of locations. As of January 1, 2005, the Company operated 648 funeral homes, 79 cemeteries and 63 combination funeral homes and cemeteries throughout North America. The Company provides funeral and cemetery services and products on both an at-need (time of death) and pre-need basis. In support of its pre-need business, the Company operates insurance subsidiaries that provide customers with a funding mechanism for the pre-arrangement of funerals. Alderwoods Group is a holding company owning, directly or indirectly, the capital stock of approximately 212 subsidiaries through which the funeral, cemetery and insurance businesses are operated. The principal executive office of the Company is located at 311 Elm Street, Suite 1000, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202.
