Blockbuster Inc. is a leading global provider of in-home rental and retail movie and game entertainment, with approximately 9,100 stores in the United States, its territories and 24 other countries as of December 31, 2004. Our focus in 2004 was on furthering our mission to become a complete source for movies and games. Specifically, we took advantage of our improved profitability from 2003 and the traffic generated by our core rental business to fund and create awareness for our strategic initiatives. During 2004 we (i) successfully launched BLOCKBUSTER ONLINET, our U.S. online subscription program; (ii) expanded our in-store subscription pass offering nationwide and significantly exceeded our in-store subscriber expectations and (iii) aggressively rolled out movie and game trading to thousands of stores.
