Business Overview We are an integrated, global agribusiness and food company operating in the farm-to-consumer food chain, with operations ranging from sales of raw materials such as grains and fertilizers to retail food products such as margarine and mayonnaise. In 2004, we had total net sales of $25,168 million. We believe we are: º . º the worlds leading oilseed processing company, based on processing capacity; º . º the largest producer and supplier of fertilizer to farmers in South America, based on volume; and º . º a leading seller of bottled vegetable oils worldwide, based on sales. We conduct our operations in three divisions: agribusiness, fertilizer and food products.

Bunzl plc is listed on NYSE (BNL). OF THE GROUP Bunzl had its origins in Bratislava, Slovakia, in the middle of the nineteenth century. The headquarters moved to London and the Company was incorporated in England in 1940, gaining a listing on the London Stock Exchange as a public company in 1957. In the early 1980s there were significant changes to the Group. Its Austrian paper mills were sold and it embarked on a strategy of expanding into outsourcing services in the US and into paper distribution in the UK. In the mid to late 1980s the Group diversified into many other businesses including parcel and goods transportation in the UK and building products distribution in the US. During the 1990s the Group disposed of a number of businesses, focusing on those businesses which reflected the Group's evolution towards outsourcing and its increasing service orientation.
