We were incorporated in Colorado on February 19, 1980, as Equitable Bancorporation, Inc. Prior to its initial public offering in June 1998, the Company was acquired by a group of private investors in September 1994. Our wholly owned subsidiary CoBiz Bank, N.A. (the Bank, previously named American Business Bank, N.A.), is a full-service business banking institution with eleven Colorado locations, including eight in the Denver metropolitan area, two in Boulder and one in Edwards, just west of Vail, and six Arizona locations (one of which opened in February 2005) serving Phoenix, Scottsdale, Surprise, Tempe and the surrounding area of Maricopa County. The Bank operates in its Colorado market areas under the name Colorado Business Bank (CBB) and in its Arizona market areas under the name Arizona Business Bank (ABB).
