Deerfield Triarc Capital Corp. is listed on NYSE (DFR). Our Company Deerfield Triarc Capital Corp. and subsidiaries, or the Company, we, us or our, is a specialty finance company that invests in real estate-related securities and various other asset classes. We elected to be taxed as a real estate investment trust, or REIT, for federal income tax purposes commencing with our taxable year ended December 31, 2004 and intend to continue to operate so as to qualify as a REIT. Our objective is to provide attractive returns to our investors through a combination of dividends and capital appreciation. To achieve this objective, we intend to opportunistically invest in financial assets to construct an investment portfolio that is leveraged where appropriate in order to achieve attractive risk-adjusted returns and that is structured to allow us to maintain our qualification as a REIT and the requirements for exclusion from regulation under the Investment Company Act of 1940, as amended, or 1940 Act.
