First Capital Inc. is listed on NASDAQ (FCAP). First Capital, Inc. (also referred to as the Company or First Capital) was incorporated under Indiana law in September 1998. The Company was organized for the purpose of becoming the holding company for First Federal Bank, A Federal Savings Bank (also referred to as the Bank) upon the Bank's reorganization as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company resulting from the conversion of First Capital, Inc., M.H.C. (MHC), from a federal mutual holding company to a stock holding company (Conversion and Reorganization). On January 12, 2000, the Company completed a merger of equals with HCB Bancorp, the former holding company for Harrison County Bank. The Bank changed its name to First Harrison Bank in connection with the merger. On March 20, 2003, the Company consummated its acquisition of Hometown Bancshares, Inc. (Hometown), a bank holding company located in New Albany, Indiana.

The Company currently has 292 locations in eleven U.S. states and five states in Mexico and is the nations third largest publicly traded pawnshop operator. The Companys pawn stores engage in both consumer finance and retail sales activities, and are a convenient source for small consumer loans, advancing money against pledged tangible personal property such as jewelry, electronic equipment, tools, sporting goods and musical equipment. The pawn stores also retail previously owned merchandise acquired through collateral forfeitures and over-the-counter purchases from customers. In addition, many of the Companys pawn stores offer short-term advances, which are also known as payday loans. The Company also operates stand-alone payday advance stores in several U.S. states.
