The Company is one of Illinois' largest publicly traded banking companies with assets of $6.9 billion at year-end 2004 and is headquartered in the Chicago suburb of Itasca, Illinois. The Company operates two wholly owned subsidiaries: First Midwest Bank, employing 1,630 full-time equivalent employees at December 31, 2004, and First Midwest Insurance Company, which is largely inactive. The Company has responsibility for the overall conduct, direction, and performance of its subsidiaries. The Company provides various services, establishes Company-wide policies and procedures, and provides other resources as needed, including capital.
