Horizon Lines Inc. is listed on NYSE (HRZ). Our Company Horizon Lines, Inc. was formed on July 7, 2004 as an acquisition vehicle to acquire the equity interest in Horizon Lines Holding Corp. (HLHC or Horizon Lines Holding). The foregoing acquisition and related financing and other transactions, referred to in this Form 10-K collectively as the Acquisition-Related Transactions or merger, included a merger, whereby Horizon Lines Holding became our direct wholly-owned subsidiary. The Company was formed at the direction of Castle Harlan Partners IV. L.P. (CHP IV), a private equity investment fund managed by Castle Harlan, Inc. (Castle Harlan). HLHC, a Delaware corporation, operates as a holding company for Horizon Lines, LLC (HL or Horizon Lines), a Delaware limited liability company and wholly-owned subsidiary and Horizon Lines of Puerto Rico, Inc. (HLPR) a Delaware corporation and wholly-owned subsidiary.
