Internet Initiative Japan Inc. is listed on NASDAQ (IIJI). We are incorporated in Japan as a joint stock corporation under the name of Internet Initiative Japan Inc., or IIJ. We were incorporated in December 1992 and operate under the laws of Japan. We began operations in July 1993, making us one of the first commercial Internet service providers in Japan to offer Internet-access services. In February 1994, we acquired a Type II Telecommunications license, which enables us to operate our own international backbone networks. We became a public company in August 1999 with our initial public offering of ADSs on the Nasdaq National Market, or Nasdaq. In October 1998, we established Crosswave Communications Inc.
