We are a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of drugs to treat relapsed (failure of prior therapy) acute leukemia, multiple myeloma (an incurable blood cancer that invades and proliferates in bone marrow), other cancers and osteolytic bone disease (bone disease caused by white blood cells). Our lead drug candidate, Annamycin, a drug from the anthracycline family (chemotherapy drugs which are also antibiotics), earlier completed a Phase I-IIa trial in leukemia patients with residual leukemic cells (refractory) in their bodies. Annamycin, originally developed by scientists at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center to address the clinical limitations associated with anthracycline drugs such as Adriamycin (doxorubicin) to treat cancer, is planned to begin a trial at The University of Texas M.D.
