Quicksilver Resources Inc. is listed on NYSE (KWK). We are an independent oil and gas company engaged in the exploration, acquisition, development, production and sale of natural gas, crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs) primarily from unconventional reservoirs such as fractured shales, coal beds and tight sands. We were organized as a Delaware corporation in 1999 and became a public company in 1999 through a merger with MSR Exploration Ltd. (MSR). Mercury Exploration Company (Mercury), which made significant contributions of properties to us at the time of our formation, was founded by Frank Darden in 1963 to explore and develop conventional oil and gas properties in the United States. As of December 31, 2004, members of the Darden family, together with Mercury and another entity entirely controlled by members of the Darden family, the sons and daughter of Frank Darden, beneficially owned approximately 37% of our outstanding common stock as of December 31, 2004.

We enjoy a worldwide leadership position in the development, manufacturing and marketing of rapid diagnostic solutions at the professional point-of-care (POC) in infectious diseases and reproductive health. We focus on POC testing solutions specifically developed for the physician office lab and acute care markets globally. We sell our products to professionals for use in physician offices, hospitals, clinical laboratories and wellness screening centers.
