INFORMATION ON LAFARGE Business Overview We believe, based on our experience in this industry that we are the world leader in construction materials and one of France’s major corporations in terms of sales. In the financial year 2004, under French GAAP, we achieved sales of 14,436 million euros, operating income on ordinary activities of 2,124 million euros and net income of 868 million euros, and at year end had total assets amounting to 24,772 million euros. We currently employ approximately 77,000 people in 75 countries. Our expertise in efficient industrial production, conservation of natural resources and respect for both society and the environment has been implemented around the world.
