Penns Woods Bancorp Inc. is listed on NASDAQ (PWOD). On January 7, 1983, Penns Woods Bancorp, Inc. was incorporated under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a bank holding company. The Jersey Shore State Bank became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company, and each outstanding share of Bank common stock was converted into one share of Company common stock. This transaction was approved by the shareholders of the Bank on April 11, 1983 and was officially effective on July 12, 1983. The Company's business has consisted primarily of managing and supervising the Bank, and its principal source of income has been dividends paid by the Bank. The Company's two other wholly-owned subsidiaries are Woods Real Estate Development Co, Inc. and Woods Investment Co., Inc. The Bank is engaged in commercial and retail banking and the taking of time and regular savings and demand deposits, the making of commercial and consumer loans and mortgage loans, and safe deposit services.
