At December 31, 2004, TDS served approximately 6.1 million customers in 36 states, including 4,945,000 wireless telephone customers and 1,157,200 wireline telephone equivalent access lines. United States Cellular Corporation (U.S. Cellular) provided 76.3% of TDSs consolidated revenues and 80.5% of consolidated operating income in 2004. TDS Telecom provided 23.7% of consolidated revenues and 19.5% of consolidated operating income in 2004. TDSs business strategy is to expand its existing operations through internal growth and acquisitions and to explore and develop other telecommunications businesses that management believes will utilize TDS expertise in customer focused telecommunications services. TDS conducts substantially all of its wireless operations through U.S. Cellular.
