Virginia Commerce Bancorp is listed on NASDAQ (VCBI). The Company engages in a general commercial banking business through the Bank, its sole direct operating subsidiary. The Banks customer base includes small-to-medium-sized businesses, including firms that have contracts with the U.S. government, associations, retailers and industrial businesses, professionals and business executives and consumers. The economic base of the Banks service area is Arlington and Fairfax Counties and the City of Alexandria in Northern Virginia, and the metropolitan Washington, DC area generally. Northern Virginia has experienced significant population and economic growth during the past decade. The Bank participated in this growth through its commercial and retail banking activities. The Banks primary service area consists of the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington DC, including Arlington County, the City of Alexandria, Fairfax County and Prince William County.
