The terms Western, we, us and our as used in this Form 10-K-A refer to Western Gas Resources, Inc. and its subsidiaries as a consolidated entity, except where it is clear that these terms mean only Western Gas Resources, Inc. General Western explores for, develops and produces, gathers, processes and treats, transports and markets natural gas and natural gas liquids, or NGLs. In our upstream operations, we explore for, develop and produce natural gas reserves primarily in the Rocky Mountain region. In our midstream operations, which are comprised of three segments, we design, construct, own and operate natural gas gathering, processing and treating facilities; we own and operate regulated transportation facilities; and we offer marketing services in order to provide our customers with a broad range of services from the wellhead to the sales delivery point.
